Blacksmith experience days

Well, after many years of people asking, I have decided to take the plunge and run some experience days. These will start later in the year once I have designed my curriculum, what you are going to be making, and, not least, tidied up the workshop!

My plan is to run around a dozen days throughout the year, for up to two people. This enables me to arrange them around my various events. It will be a full 8 hour day in the workshop with access to all the tools and material you need. However, I am sorting a list of several items so that you make 3-4 items during the day, with each item introducing you to another aspect of blacksmithing, so when you leave, you will have the items you made and a reasonable knowledge of the processes required. From this knowledge, you should be able to begin as a hobbyist smith if you wish.

Just so you are all aware, we will not be making knives. These are mainly a grinding exercise. But you will learn all you need to make one at leisure. I may do specific blade courses later on.

Prices are still to be decided, but are likely to be in the region of £100-150 for the day, tea/coffee provided, bring your own lunch.
